Course of Arts & Roots
Research and study of local historical cultural resources (roots), and reevaluation of them to find new artistic expressions
Students will learn themes and techniques based on local culture and history through “basic theory”, “production”, and “field work”, and will apply the research and study results to their works.
Course of Multidisciplinary Arts
Exploration of new directions in modern art and development of modern expressions through various materials or media
Students will create modern works using various media, without being bound by traditional materials, techniques or forms of expression.
Course of Creative Manufacturing Design
Development of craftsmanship that creates rich human relationships based on the cultural resources of Akita
Students will create objects with new perspectives and values and transmit them from Akita to the world, based on the cultural backgrounds or values inherent to objects that have been loved for generations.
Course of Communication Design
Visual communication is learned using a variety of media to enable effective design or art directions
Students will learn a broad range of expressions through graphic design, and will become capable of comprehensive art direction that builds excellent visual communications or overall design.
Course of Landscape Design
Planning and proposal of urban development with comfort and prosperity by designing beautiful townscapes or landscape
Students will acquire knowledge and techniques for providing new suggestions (for urban development) by discovering issues in urban development and nurturing practical skills through workshops and other exercises.
