The 4th International Engineering Design Challenge in Akita, Japan (IEDC2019)


International Engineering Design Challenge (IEDC) is a design workshop for students who have various educational backgrounds. Each participant will belong to a team and try to propose a creative new idea. In the workshop, participants can get great experiences of communication, collaboration, creating novel idea, and making attractive presentation.

* Theme : Traditional Crafts with IoT
There are many wonderful beautiful traditional craft works and products in Akita City. However, it is not widely known either nationally or globally. Also, its appeal has failed to reach modern young people. Therefore, in order to convey the value and appeal of the traditional crafts to people and young people all over the world, the purpose is to propose completely new unique ideas and prototypes using the IoT(Internet of Things) technology or system.
